File Bastard Cut
A file with coarse teeth known as a bastard cut is frequently used for quick material removal during shaping, smoothing, or filing operations. A bastard cut file's main characteristics are as follows:
- Cut Type: The phrase "bastard cut" describes how rough or aggressive the file's teeth are. One of the more abrasive cuts for files, it is made for quick material removal and shaping. Compared to cuts with finer edges, the teeth are generally broad and widely spaced.
- Tooth Pattern: A single-cut tooth pattern is indicative of a bastard cut file. This indicates that the file's surface is covered in several parallel rows of teeth that run diagonally. The teeth only cut in one direction since they are unidirectional.
- Application: Metalworking, woodworking, and ordinary filing operations all frequently include the usage of bastard cut files. They can be used to quickly refine workpieces, remove extra material, and shape rough surfaces. When efficiency and speed are more important than creating a beautiful finish, bastard cut files can be especially helpful.
