Machine Auger Bit
Auger is a tool (or bit) for drilling holes in wood that is used in conjunction with a carpenter's brace. It has six parts: a screw, spurs, cutting edges, twist, shank, and tang, and it looks like a corkscrew. The screw, which resembles a tapered wood screw and has a small diameter, centers the bit and draws it into the work.
