Keystone
Keystone refers to a standardized modular system for mounting various types of connectors or jacks into a compatible wall plate, patch panel, or faceplate. Keystone modules are widely used in structured cabling systems to create customized configurations for different data, voice, or multimedia connections.
The term "keystone" comes from the shape of the module, which resembles the center stone in an archway. Keystone modules are typically rectangular or square in shape and feature a standardized snap-in design. They can be easily inserted and removed from keystone-compatible outlets, allowing for flexibility and easy customization of cabling installations
