Fiber Optic Cable
An optical fiber cable, commonly referred to as a fiber-optic cable, is a device that resembles an electrical wire but actually contains one or more optical fibers for the transmission of light. The optical fiber components are typically enclosed in a protective tube that is suitable for the environment in which the cable will be used and are individually coated with plastic coatings. Different types of cable are needed for different purposes, such as long-distance telephone or transmitting a high-speed data link between different parts of a facility.
