An industrial plug, sometimes referred to as an industrial power plug or an industrial electrical connector, is a particular kind of electrical connector made for use with heavy-duty electrical equipment in industrial and commercial settings. In order to accommodate huge loads and resist harsh weather conditions, industrial plugs are often bigger and more robust than domestic plugs. They also have greater voltage and amperage ratings.
A male plug having pins or blades that connect to a corresponding female receptacle or socket makes up an industrial plug. Additionally, to stop dust, moisture, and other pollutants from getting inside the electrical connection, they may have grounding contacts, locking systems, and protective covers.
