Flap Disc
An abrasive instrument called a flap disc is used to polish, finish, and grind a variety of materials. It is made up of many abrasive flaps that overlap each other, such as sandpaper or abrasive cloth, and are organized around a central hub. A flat or slightly convex disc is produced by the flaps and hub being tightly connected.
Different versions of flap discs are available to suit a range of uses. Typical types are:
1. Standard Flap Discs: Suitable for general-purpose grinding and finishing work on metals, wood, and plastics
2. Zirconia Flap Discs: Known for their extreme durability and cutting-edge performance. Ideal for removing bulky stuff off stainless steel and metals.Ceramic flap discs: They perform better and last longer. Used frequently for high-pressure tasks like intensive grinding or stock removal on hard metals.
3. Non-Woven Flap Discs: For light surface cleaning, blending, and polishing operations, use non-woven abrasive material. When compared to coated abrasive flap discs, they are less harsh on the workpiece.
